One of our favorite “rooms” to work with isn’t a room at all; in fact it’s not even inside of the house. That’s because it is your “outdoor room,” or better defined as the space outside of your home including the patio space, the front porch or an area within your yard.
Why are we talking about outdoor space? Well, as the weather warms up, many St. Louisans are asking about covered entryways, front porches, decks and screened in porches. We have some beautiful weather in St. Louis and people want to get a full outdoor experience. Whether you want to lounge outside and read a book or host a party, a covered area can provide protection from nature’s elements and extend your outdoor season.
One of our most recent renovations came at a home in Kirkwood. For this project, we built on a brand new addition, which included a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedrooms. But, the cherry on top of this renovation was the raised outdoor porch with covering.
By adding this outdoor porch, we were able to transform the exterior look of the home, as well as give the homeowners a place to enjoy the day or find their keys during a rain shower.
